Dubai Media City (DMC) was formed in 2000 by state decree in Dubai, at the crossroads of the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. It quickly established itself as a global media center. DMC provides a welcoming environment and well-developed infrastructure for media-related businesses to operate globally. Over 1300 businesses have lately opened in the DMC Freezone. The Dubai Media City legislation is provided by the Dubai Technology and Media Freezone Authority (DTMFZA), an independent institution that allows enterprises to conduct business in a world-class environment based on international standards.

The Dubai Freezone has consistently worked to ensure that various organizations and companies from various industries grow for the greater good and provide maximum production in terms of goods and bring. In short, they've created an environment in which these industries can thrive in a cost-effective, unrestricted environment without having to worry about taxes and customs.

Commercial licenses are issued in DMC in accordance with DMC Freezone Authority regulations for free zone limited liability firms, branch offices, and freelancers. The DTMFZA's Registration and Licensing section is in charge of issuing all licenses. The permits are good for one year and can be renewed once a year. It's also important to realize that failing to renew an industrial license on time will result in a penalty.

If the firm changes its name, its popularity from branch office to limited liability company, or if any management, business activity, or address changes occur, DMC business licences can be modified. If there are any share transfers, capital injections, or reductions, they must all be documented in the license. Mergers are also authorized among DMC firms, and license cancellation is possible via an online approach.
